I have had a love affair with pop music since I was 12 years old—for better or worse. That’s why my favorite song in this segment of the countdown is “Pop Muzik” by M. But a close second would be “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World—an anthem for uncertain times.
On the other end of the spectrum, don’t make me hear Lionel Richie’s “Dancing on the Ceiling” or the Captain & Tennille’s “Muskrat Love.”
