I considered continuing my daily Advent reflection through the twelve days of Christmas. Then I remembered that I am taking the General Ordination Exams (GOEs) on the last several days of Christmas season, and I abandoned this idea. I've been jokingly referring to the GOEs by a Harry Potter moniker, the N.E.W.T.s (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests).
We all take the exams on the same days, and there are seven exams in all: two tomorrow, two on Friday, one on Saturday, and two more on Monday.
Tomorrow we will be set two questions: one in the morning on the Bible, and one in the afternoon on liturgy and music.
Over the next few days, please keep in your prayers future priests of the Episcopal Church as we take these intense exams. Thank you!
